This setting can be switched between off, basic, and strict. You can now set the type checking mode for Pylance through the language status button in the status bar, at the bottom of the editor. New type checking status button for Pylance This feature enables things like parameterization of notebooks for papermill or nbconvert, for creating slideshows directly from your notebook! You can now add tags and parameterize notebook cells directly in the notebook editor without opening the json format of the document – a feature provided in the Jupyter extension. This makes it easy to collapse sections of your code so you can navigate your Python file without extensive scrolling. If you have any issues or feature requests, you can file them in the autopep8 extension’s GitHub repository.Īll “cells” within a Python file denoted with # %% markers can now be folded in the editor. You can now give the autopep8 extension a try by downloading it from the marketplace. Since it ships with the latest version of autopep8, it is not required to be installed in a Python environment. We are continuing to add to our growing extension library with a new autopep8 extension now in preview! As with our pylint, black, isort, and flake8 extensions, the autopep8 extension uses the Language Server Protocol to provide formatting support. Look for these new settings in the VS Code settings panel: Within each of these settings, you can specify paths of directories or files that should be included, excluded, or ignored for Pylance diagnostic output. Pylance has added an enhancement that allows users to include, exclude, and ignore paths via VS Code settings. Include, exclude, and ignore paths can now be provided for Pylance We hope this new feature streamlines the environment creation process and encourages the utilization of environments for coding best practices. The command will also install necessary packages outlined in a requirements/dependencies file, such as requirements.txt, pyproject.toml or environment.yml, located in the project folder. drag the battery icon to the desired location in the menu bar, and.You can set any position at the right side of the menu bar between the menu of the current front application and the icon of Notification Center. This position will automatically be remembered the next time you are launching Battery Monitor. You can set a preferred position for the battery icon in the menu bar. Choosing a position for the menu-bar display The charge level indicated in the menu bar also respects your current preference to either indicate the true physical level or the user-oriented fake value. Battery Monitor needs to be running to show its icon in the menu bar. When the battery is running on reserve power, the icon will switch to a red bar indicator. The icon of Battery Monitor continuously visualizes the current charge level, even while the battery is charging or the system is powered by AC adapter after the battery is fully charged.Observing technical details of other programs is prohibited for Apps from the Mac App Store. Battery Monitor must not indicate the application which is currently consuming the most energy.Different wordings are used in the menu items.Battery Monitor does not try to copy Apple’s functions: Settings for the Menu BarĪlthough the basic battery icon used by Battery Monitor looks very similar to the original version used by macOS, the detail behavior of icon and menu will differ. If you like to hide the battery icon in the menu bar in this case, which will allow you to combine Apple’s battery icon with the percentage value of Battery Monitor, additional check the item Show percentage only, suppressing battery icon. If you like to show the percentage value for charge level next to the battery icon, also set a check mark at Show percentage. It provides a slightly different set of features and brings back the possibility to indicate the estimated remaining runtime in the menu. This status item of Battery Monitor can be used as an alternative to the original battery icon of macOS. Using the Menu-Bar Display Enabling the menu-bar displayīy setting a check mark at the option Show battery status in menu bar on the tab item Menu Bar of the Settings window, you can add an optional battery display to the right side of the menu bar of macOS. Zooming and split display options really add to the usability of this image viewing app. I also like being able to float the file list or hide it and the toolbar. The choices include list and tree options for folders and image lists as well as icons and thumbnails. In addition, you can select your preference for how files and folders display. Similar to many Web browser features, Geeqie’s view menu offers options to view a picture in a new window, pan view or Exit window. For instance, it gives you more flexibility in viewing and handling graphic files. I like the extra touches that Geeqie builds into the interface. This, of course, reduces or enlarges the size of the graphic display window on the right. You can drag the border line to the left or right to expand or compress the left column’s file list. Once you click on a graphic file name, its image instantly pops intoi view in the large display window on the right side of the app’s window. But unlike a file manager program, Geeqie only shows you a list of supported graphic files. Its files now display in the lower portion of the left column. Once you click on a directory, the top portion of the disoplay goes blank so you can see the files contained in the selected folder. Below that is the directory tree of folders and sub-folders. The top left column of the app display has the navigational controls, standard drop-down menu categories and a locator window. Geeqie’s interface resembles that of a typical file viewer. You can extract and even compile them to make installation files if you are faint-hearted as well. The app is readily available in compressed tarball format from a variety of online sources. That was a pleasant surprise, as I use both Puppy and Ubuntu Linux on all of my computers.Įven manual installation is not difficult for Geeqie. I even found a Geeqie package available on the Puppy Linux forum. The latest version, Geekie 1.0, is available in Ubuntu. That means you might not find it available yet in your favorite distro’s repository. Geeqie is a newcomer to established distros. I found it faster and handier to use Geeqie to view or move a file than to do the same chore in Nautilus, Thunar or Krusader file managing systems. One of Geeqie’s strong points is its click-and-view file manager interface. Other times you need a workhorse image fixer or collection housecleaning. There are times you need a quick peek or fast file management. That is why you need a quick and handy image viewing app like Geeqie to supplement the image manipulation toolboxes found in full-fledged image editor programs such as GIMP and photo collection apps like Shotwell Photo Management. In the same way you should not rely on an image viewer to handle graphic-intense image editing, collection management and photo album maintenance. You would not use a word processing program to carry on an instant message-style conversation over the Internet. Plus, it is very lightweight but highly functional. As far as Geeqie is concerned, it is very easy to use with an interface much like used in GQView. You could compare Geeqie to similar graphic viewing tools the likes of Xnview, Gwenview and gThumb and find numerous similarities and a few key differences. With GQview falling into disrepair after its developer abandoned the project several years ago, Geeqie is keeping this viewer tool alive and well. If you are a fan of GQview, you could have a fond affinity for this little-known newcomer. Geeqie, a fork of the popular GQview, is an GTK-based image viewer for Linux. Since the content in 'area' is send directly by our code, I just turned the area in Views (for Google and Fontsquirrel) to 'area_text_custom', to fix the problem. Eventually, you’ll find the perfect mix of darkness and light. Play around with the angles of the light, dimmable lamps, and the height at which you place your lamps. To prevent this, make sure to work with different lightings and light sources. Otherwise materials and objects risk looking a bit lifeless. Your eyes need shadows and shades in order to perceive shapes and textures. While light is important, when it comes to choosing lamps for a room, shadows play an equally critical role. That way, the light is more dynamic, making your room look bigger and more interesting. For example, you can have one or two table lamps in your window at mid-level, then a wall lamp placed in a higher position, together with a floor lamp that ends up somewhere in-between. Instead, you want to work with light at different levels. If not, your lamps might create an unflattering circle that directs all light towards the middle of the room. You want to make sure your lighting is positioned at varying heights. Use height when deciding on indoor lighting By combining floor lamps, table lamps and wall lamps, it'll be easier for you to create perfect lighting and help your room come to life. And ideally, they should be a mix of different types of lights, positioned throughout the room at varied heights and. Incandescent bulbs do not produce much light in the ultraviolet spectrum, but they remain the most economic option. Since then more efficient sources have come to light. The first black light was created by using a UV filter called Wood's glass over the bulb. A lamp here, a lamp thereĪ properly lit room should have between five to seven light sources. Black lights can be fluorescent tubes, CFLs, mercury-vapor lamps, incandescent, or LED. To help you improve the lighting in your home, we have everything from ceiling to floor lamps, as well as all of the in-betweens. Another common problem is the lack of multiple light sources to add variety and texture to otherwise bland central lighting. Maybe it’s lacking mood lighting to even out the sharp spotlights around the work area. It might be that you’re missing an important accent lighting source that would bring out the color of the room. If you feel like something is missing in a room, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is, chances are you’re getting hung up on bad lighting. Plus, VLC Media Player is too complicated for a novice who has little knowledge about video/audio encoding or extracting. For example, the supported output format is limited, you cannot extract only a portion from a DVD disc instead of the whole audio. Indeed, VLC Media Player comes with powerful ability to extract audio from DVD, however, it sill has some drawback. Part 2: Best VLC alternative to extract audio snippet from DVD You can play the audio file using mp3 players, smartphones, your computer and any other device that supports the selected format. Or, more precisely, that you want to extract the audio information from to save them to a new file. Repeat the process for as many DVD discs as you want to convert to audio. The time it takes to extract the audio varies depending on the file size, but if all goes well, a correctly encoded MP3 file will appear in the destination folder. From now on the Audio - MP3 profile will remember these settings.Īfter the above step you will be returned to the 'Convert' window where finally you can click Start to set things in motion. The default is 128 kb/s but you may want to increase this for better quality. While here, you can also change the Bitrate. In the Codec drop down box select MPEG Audio. Select RAW and then click the Audio codec tab. To the right of the 'Profile' drop down box, click on the spanner and screwdriver icon which will open the Profile edition window on the Encapsulation tab. This profile needs to be changed slightly. Step 5: Adjust Advanced Settings (Optional) In the Profile drop down box, select Audio - MP3. The Convert window is also where changes can be made to the output settings. Choose a destination folder and name for the extracted audio file. In the Convert window, click on the Browse button to open the Save file window. Click on the Convert/Save button to open the Convert window. If you have more than one DVD ROM player/drive make sure the appropriate one, that has the DVD, is selected as the Disc Device. In the Open Media Window, click on the Disc Tab. Open VLC media player and click on the Media tab. Insert the DVD into your computer's DVD ROM player. In this article, I will attempt to capture some of that significance by analyzing the Santa Biblia’s translation, textual basis, study aids, and impact.34 Ideas for LDS Sacrament Meeting Talks When People Don’t Apologize: Forgiving and finding reconciliation with God Would borrow from Forgiveness + … retro bowl future updates In this hilarious and inspiring talk, Clint Pulver teaches about the simple but powerful strength youth and adults alike can receive in moments of fear and uncertainty by simply taking the time to be still and, as the scriptures remind us, to remember, remember, remember what we know and how we know it. The Santa Biblia marks a significant milestone in the history of Latter-day Saint scripture both because of its contents and because of what it indicates about the internationalization of the Church. That changed in September 2009 with the publication of the Santa Biblia: Reina-Valera 2009, a Spanish edition of the LDS Bible and the first new language edition to be published since the English version thirty years earlier (fig. They will have the testimony that Jesus is the Christ and be competent to proclaim Him and to defend Him.ĭecades of experience have proven the value of those scripture editions for millions of Latter-day Saints, and yet, as Elder Packer went on to relate, “even all of this is but a beginning, for we have it only in English.” Although the Triple Combination has been translated into forty-four languages, for many years only English-speaking Saints could enjoy the advantages of reading the Old and New Testaments in a Church-sponsored edition. They will develop a gospel scholarship beyond that which their forebears could achieve. The revelations will be opened to them as to no other in the history of the world. With the passing of years, these scriptures will produce successive generations of faithful Christians who know the Lord Jesus Christ and are disposed to obey His will. After the release of the first Latter-day Saint edition of the Bible in 1979 and a new edition of the Triple Combination containing the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price in 1981, Elder Boyd K. Previously on a long travel 29er, I received this bike with some trepidation since I had always been an advocate of large wheels on rough terrain. This is the most aggressive and capable bike that I have owned and I am having a blast with it. I’ll try running the CTD lever on the left side and crowd out the Reverb remote and brake lever on that side. This forced me to locate the shifter a bit too close to the grip for my hands and at times my thumb rubs on the shifter paddle. In the picture below you can see that none of these systems play nicely together and forces three clamps to be located on the right side handlebar (you could flip the lockout the the left side too in all honesty). This brings me to an interesting point, Rocky has spec’d this bike with SRAM drive, Shimano Brakes and FOX Shock and Fork. With this type of weaponry, 160mm travel, slack(ish) headtube, super wide handlebar and stubby stem, climbing can only be so good…But with the handlebar mounted CTD adjustment lever, climbing can be made reasonably efficient with a very stable pedalling platform. I really like these options since it can be steepened up for longer less aggressive rides or slackened off for full party mode. Moving the location down lowers the leverage on the shock and allows heavier riders to run lower pressures which results in longer shock seal life and larger range for damping adjustments. Moving the pivot up allows lighter rider to use higher shock pressures (effectively increasing leverage on the shock and allowing proper shock air pressure ranges). Further fine tuning of the suspension can be made by moving the mount to the other upper or lower locations. A little steep for this segment but it contributes to a snappier trail ride. Head tube angles adjust from 66.2 degrees to 67.8 degrees. The location opposite, or closest to the rear would be the steepest setting. In the above picture, with the eccentrics both far forward, this is the slackest setting. There are a total of, you guessed it, 9 optional locations to located the upper shock mounting point. RIDE 9 is a system of two four sided chips nested together with an eccentrically located mounting hole in each. Rocky takes that a step further with Ride 9. These all have the affect of small chnages in head tube angle and bottom bracket height. Many have two positions for locating the shock upper or lower mount or two adjust the rear dropout. It is not uncommon for bikes to have some sort of geometry adjustment feature. So that is a nice unintemded benefit of this suspension design. Chain slap on these carbon stays is VERY loud without it. With the rear pivot easily accessible, I was able to stretch on a length of 35mm inner tube to protect the chain stay. Ball bearing pivots are pressed into place, susceptible to damage, failure and are much harder to service. Sealed with o-rings and lubricated with a high tenacity grease, the pivots are easy to service, repair and are very quiet. The bushings are tapered to provide both vertical and horizontal motion control. Plain bearings are designed for simplicity, stiffness, load capacity and durability. Light lubrication combined with marginal sealing, ingress of dirt and especially water and high stresses leads to material fatigue, corrosion and generally horrible pivot and degraded suspension performance. Very tiny points of contact share the load in the load zone on the rolling elements and races. Some max capacity type bearings are used with no cages, but these are still engineered for continuous rotational motion. Because of this they are only partially filled with grease to avoid heat build up at speed. Rolling element bearings are designed for rotational motion at high speeds. People have typically felt that plain bearings are inferior but allow me to explain…In a typical bike pivot, the range of travel is in a small arc segment where the parts do not make a full rotation and in some cases, such as the “horst” link, the motion is almost imperceptible when you are looking at them. In my professional opinion, done right, and these are, this is the best way to design pivots on a mountain bike. Rocky Mountain chooses to use plain bearing (bushing style) pivots. Attach some solid Stans Flow EX wheels and 3.30 HD hubs and this thing should come with a pilot’s license. The Altitude Rally is a purpose built modified Altitude with some burly attributes: New 160 mm fox 36, Fox Float X CTD piggy back shock, 800 mm wide, 35 series handle bars and 50 mm stem. When people finally realized that it is much more fun to slay the downs and maintain a reasonably pedal able (is that a word?) bike to explore and keep more trail riding options open, the market exploded. I don’t want to use the dreaded E-word, but in the spirit of the largest growing bike segment, Enduro, Rocky Mountain has nailed it. Only after the answer is found to be correct the incoming connection can be trusted, the status of the buddy will be displayed as on-line and incoming messages from this buddy will be accepted. A random cookie will then be sent out by both clients on their (trusted) outgoing connection that must be correctly answered on the incoming connection. Therefore TorChat will not trust any incoming connection and instead immediately try to open an outgoing connection to call back any incoming buddy on the address he pretends to be. onion address you can never end up at the wrong counterpart, the one who answers the connection is the one who is in possession of the private key belonging to this address (the private_key file in the hidden_service folder). The Tor hidden service protocol by itself has no built-in authentication mechanism for incoming connections but it can guarantee that when you initiate an outgoing connection to a given. TorChat buddies authenticate themselves by proving that they are reachable though their. It effectively allows true hidden peer-to-peer networks, there are just not many softwares that make any use of its peer-to-peer capability, most use it more in a traditional client-server manner, TorChat is one of the few (and at the moment I don't know of any other). This less known Tor mode is called Tor hidden services, you can read more about it on the above link. There are no exit nodes involved in this mode, at no point other than your and your buddies own computer will the traffic ever leave the Tor network. This means all TorChat traffic is end2end encrypted. Upon connection another layer of encryption is established reaching through from one client to the other, building one uninterrupted encrypted tunnel through all 6 nodes between the two end points. Both clients build a normal 3 node circuit from each end to some random tor node in the middle to "meet" there and connect their circuits with each other. However, there exists another and less commonly known mode of operation in which two Tor clients can initiate a fully encrypted peer-to-peer connection between each other that will not leave the Tor network at any point! This is what TorChat is using. This is the origin of the above mentioned "Tor provides no encryption" and it is undoubtedly true for this most widely known and practiced application of Tor and users should understand it. The most commonly known usage of Tor is to use it as an anonymizer for traffic between the anonymous user and a publicly available service in the Internet and while the traffic will travel encrypted through the Tor network it MUST at some point leave the Tor network and enter the unencrypted internet to reach its final destination. Whenever I mention Tor and encryption in the same sentence the immediate reflex response of many people is: "But Tor provides no encryption!" This statement is true for most applications but not for all. There are some misunderstandings floating around regarding Tor and encryption. EncryptionĪll TorChat traffic is encrypted end-to-end. You can binary compare the tor.exe with the official one to verify this or replace it with your own version of tor.exe if you like. The Tor binary which is bundled with the windows version of TorChat is taken from the official Tor-0.2.2.37 installer. to whom you are sending or receiving from.what you send or receive (everything is end-to-end encrypted). If they are already observing you and sniff your internet connection they will not be able to find out.Nobody will be able to find out where you are.Tor location hidden services basically means: (It can run on Linux and Mac too, in fact it was developed on Linux with cross platform usability in mind from the very first moment on, but the installation on other platforms than Windows is a bit more complicated at the moment) TorChat just runs from an USB drive on any Windows PC. TorChat is a peer to peer instant messenger with a completely decentralized design, built on top of Tor's location hidden services, giving you extremely strong anonymity while being very easy to use without the need to install or configure anything. |
